Do I need to schedule a tour or can we just drop by?

  • We kindly request that all tours are by appointment only. Feel free to bring as many friends and family as you want. Please pardon our dust while we are under construction. Request a tour here.

How do I reserve a date?

  • To reserve a date, you must have toured with us in person. Then you may email us at info@thegladevenue.com stating you are ready to book (X, Y, Z) date if it is still available. We suggest you email us stating you are ready to book your preferred date and also include 2 backup dates in case your preferred date is unavailable. Dates are reserved on a first requested basis. Whomever has requested to start the contract process with us by email first for a specific date, will be first in line. Check available dates here.

What is the average total budget of a couple getting married at your venue?

  • Great question! We believe the average wedding budget for a couple getting married on a Saturday at The Glade is between $15,000-$18,000 for all wedding expenses (venue, caterer, dress, DJ, photographer, etc.) If you are creative with a smaller guest list or chose a different day of the week (ex. Friday or Sunday), you could potentially host a beautiful wedding in the $10,000-$14,000 range.

How much can I save with inclusions at The Glade Venue?

  • We have so many inclusions that can literally save you THOUSANDS. Our inclusions are based on 175 guests:

    Table Linens - $600

    Uplighting - $300

    Centerpieces - $900

    Arbor, Signs, Misc. Decor - $350

Are there any minimums I should be aware of?

  • No, there are not any guest count or spending minimums required at The Glade. No china requirement alone can save $1,000.00 of your wedding budget.

What are my vendor choices?

  • You are welcome to bring any licensed and insured vendor for your wedding day.

What lodging options are available in the area?

  • We recommend lodging options in Thomasville or Bainbridge, GA and Tallahassee, FL.

What happens in case of rain?

  • Don’t worry! We are completely equipped to move the ceremony indoors if the weather changes. This can be discussed in detail during your tour.

What time will we have access to the venue?

  • The bridal party and anyone decorating can have access beginning as early as 8 AM (just ask for early access). The groomsmen are welcome at 1 PM.

Will there be another wedding the same day?

  • At The Glade we only host one wedding each day to ensure that each couple’s event is special and receives our full attention.

Do you offer straight tables instead of round?

  • We have a limited number of straight tables that can be used for gifts, buffet, head table, etc.

Do you include a wedding day coordinator?

  • No, however there will be a 2-person team who stays onsite with you throughout the duration of your special day. Our goal is to be as helpful as possible as extra hands, to direct vendors and to be available to answer questions to make sure your wedding day goes smoothly. We also offer our booked couples a 50-page resource guide to help walk you through all the big decisions you will be making for your wedding day. And as an added perk of booking with us, 3 months prior to your wedding day you will be given access to our online day-of planning tool that will help you organize and detail the events of the day.

If the venue is in a rural area, will there be wild animals?

  • There is always a possibility of seeing animals in a rural setting but it is rare. There are hunters in the area so you may hear gun fire off in the distance.

Booking FAQs


How do I book a date?

  • To reserve a date, you must have toured with us in person. Then you may email us at info@thegladevenue.com saying you are ready to book (this) date if it is still available. How are payments structured?

  • When the contract is signed, to continue holding the date, we require a $1,000 first payment to be made. Twelve months prior to the event 50% of the remaining fee will be due. The final installment is required 90 days prior to the event. You are welcome to send smaller, partial payments of any amount prior to the specified due date, so in effect creating your own payment plan on your own schedule. Please include the last names of the couple and the wedding date in the memo line if you are mailing a check. Full payment is due by the specified date due. We also reserve the right to request a credit card on file for any damages to the facility or grounds.

Do you keep a cancellation list?

  • We do not keep a cancellation list. If a date becomes available, we will post it here.

Catering FAQs


What catering options are available?

  • We do not have exclusive caterers that we work with. You are welcome to hire any licensed and insured caterer that fits your budget.

Do we work directly with the caterer, or work through the venue for food and beverage selections?

  • No. You will work directly with the caterer and bar service you choose to make all your selections and payments. On your wedding day, our staff will be available to direct them to the prep kitchen and reception space.

Are there any minimums we should be aware of?

  • No. At The Glade there are no minimums to worry about.

Planning FAQs


Can we have our rehearsal at The Glade Venue?

  • We believe rehearsing is important! However, couples can rehearse anywhere such as your home or back yard. We also offer onsite options to hold your rehearsal.

    1. You may rehearse during one of our scheduled open houses - please make sure you register for the open house of your choice.

    2. You may have your bride and groom parties rehearse the day of your wedding. It is not necessary for the bride to rehearse. She only needs to look beautiful to walk down the aisle.

    3. You may request Friday to rehearse and decorate at no additional cost when available. This is a 3 hour window between 3:00 and 8:00 PM (based on availability).

When is the next open house?

  • Our open house is primarily designed for couples who have already had a private tour of The Glade. However, we welcome anyone to come who would like to look around and meet our team. Currently we are under construction. As soon as construction is complete, we will notify our couples for an Open House visit.

What time do you suggest we start the ceremony?

  • This is your choice. However, daylight will vary depending on the season. We can discuss this with you.

What time must the music and bar conclude?

  • The music and bar will conclude promptly at 10:30 PM and 9:30 PM for Sunday weddings.

Can vendor or decor items be dropped off before or after our stated rental period?

  • Any vendor or decor items will need to be dropped off during the agreed upon rental period. The rental period begins no earlier than 8:00 AM.

Are candles allowed?

  • You may use candles that are completely contained in a candle holder. Tapered candles and any type of hanging candles will not be allowed for safety reasons.

When do you need our final headcount?

  • Three weeks prior to your wedding day, your online planning tool will be required to be completed. This tool will organize and detail the events of the day for our staff.

How do I obtain a marriage license?

  • If you are a Georgia resident, you may apply for a marriage license in any probate court in any county. If you are from out-of-state, you may apply for a marriage license in Grady County where The Glade is located. You are encouraged to call in advance to ensure policies have not changed.

What is the event setup and clean up process?

  • Your table configuration will be set prior to your arrival at The Glade. If you choose one of our pre-designed decor options and linen colors, it will be set up and taken down for you. If you choose to decorate yourself, you may do so at any time during the agreed upon rental period. All items will need to be removed by 11:59 PM at which time the gate to The Glade will be locked.

Can vehicles be left overnight?

  • No vehicles can be left overnight. Please advise your guests of this policy. The gate will be locked at 11:59 PM.

Can we have fireworks on the property?

  • Fireworks and sparklers are not permitted for safety reasons.

Setup & Day-of Event Questions


Are outside snacks and trays permitted?

  • Yes, you are welcome to bring in any food and drink to have in the suites. We don’t want the bride getting hangry before she says I Do. Outside alcohol will not be permitted after the start of the ceremony. Once the ceremony begins, all alcohol will need to be served by a licensed and insured bartender. Outside alcohol will be collected and left with the bartender to be picked up at the end of the night.

What is the event clean-up process?

  • Your caterer will need to bus all tables. The Glade staff will handle all standard clean up and trash removal throughout the wedding reception. If you chose a predesigned decor package, our staff will also be responsible for removing those items. If you chose to decorate yourself, we ask that you place all borrowed items on one or two tables for The Glade staff to put away.

Can we nail decorations to the walls or hang things like streamers or lanterns from the beams?

  • No. In order to preserve the beauty of The Glade, we need to keep all decor items limited to tables, easels and floor space.
